Here is a series of five videos that show what Baghdad looks like during midday. The route is roughly as follows:

It’s a very simple route, and though the streets were sometimes choked with cars, it wasn’t so bad and we got back and forth pretty quickly. I think it was around 15 minutes.
We passed the old train tracks, herds of sheep (or were they goats?), flocks of chickens, old Toyota trucks that looks as though they were from the 1970s, and lots of green space and lots of buildings, coffee shops, taxis, car repairs garages. I thought it was charming.
And yes, there are women out on the streets — not the majority, but they’re there, and they’re even by themselves, LOL.
