Don’t plant vinca part 2

I entered this video into the Fredrikstad Animation Festival. I’ve been entering animations into this festival since I was in graduate school. I had it as one of my life goals to be selected into this festival, even if it took till I was 80 years old.

Well, I didn’t expect this animation to be selected at all. But then lo and behold, I got an email saying, Congratulations!

I thought, what in the world? I’ve never been able to attain a life goal that easily.

Yes, it was too easy. A second email was sent about two seconds after the first: “We apologize, we sent that previous email in error. You have not been selected after all. But we still found your animation interesting and want to include it in an out-of-competition showing called ‘Midnight Madness’.”

I thought, sounds great!

Well, it wasn’t great after all. “Midnight Madness” turned out to be the session where they are making fun of films. I didn’t find this out until later. I don’t think they have any business doing that, that is extremely poor taste.

But any case, don’t plant vinca.
