I wrote about Swedish books at the Los Angeles library earlier, and I wanted to write more specifically about the kids’ books in Swedish that they have.
They have a lot of them! These books are all housed in the children’s section (as opposed to the international books section). Most are not actually on the shelves, you have to ask the librarians to retrieve them from back storage. But you can certainly start with the shelf, it’s so nice:

I checked out a whole bunch of them, and I found this one called Guldflickan, written by a little girl who died of cancer.

On the inside front cover, look at what is written in pen:

So this book was originally a Christmas present for little Hampus! And it came from his grandfather Sven, plus Ingrid and Marco, in 1995. And then, I guess Hampus either already was, or eventually ended up, living in Los Angeles and maybe in 2016 he decided to donate the book to the library!
Maybe Hampus still lives in Los Angeles, I don’t know.
It’s always very very nice to have Swedish books on hand.

Notice the Carl Larsson book! So now I have more to add about where Carl Larsson things can be found in the US!
